Gasket Sheets in Seattle

We are among the leading suppliers of high-performance gaskets and sealing products used by multiple industries for applications of high temperature and high pressure. These make use of the non-asbestos gasket sheet materials outlined below which include:

  • Non-asbestos fiber with rubber binders for all applications to 1000-deg F with NBR for oil and petroleum products and neoprene binders for some refrigerant products.
  • Non-asbestos fiber with rubber binders and with metal tang inserts to 1800-deg F
  • Carbon fiber
  • Graphite compressed sheet to 900-deg F with stainless steel or aramid insert
  • High temperature, red and black
  • Expanded PTFE (Teflon®) to 600-deg F
  • Filled PTFE (Teflon®)

Gasket Sheet Material for Applications

Neoprene-Gasket-Material-Seattle-WA

The gasket sheet materials (also called “compressed sheet”) are made with fibers bonded under heat and pressure with different elastomers. Most commonly used fibers for gasket sheets are acrylic or aramid and the elastomers are neoprene or nitrile. For gasket sheets to adept to the higher temperatures, the fibers are ceramic and vermiculite.

The nitrile binders are best for oil and fuel applications as gaskets while the neoprene binders are more suitable for some refrigerant gaskets. Metal and wire inserts are introduced for increased strength and temperature capabilities of the gasket sheets. The PTFE (Teflon®) gasket sheet materials have superior chemical resistance from pH 0 to pH 14.

You can review the physical properties of gasket sheets in greater detail by referring to the gasket material summary below or call us for technical data of our gaskets.

The following list is an overview of the gasket sheet materials most frequently used for gaskets. Gasket sheet sizes vary by the type of material with 60” x 60” cut and most common thicknesses from 1/64” to ¼” cut.

  • Aramid or acrylic fiber gaskets with rubber binder for gasket applications to 750-deg F with NBR for oil and petroleum gasket products: Gardico 522T, Klinger C-4401, Garlock 3000
  • Aramid or acrylic fiber gaskets with rubber binder for applications to 750-deg F with neoprene for propane and some refrigerant products: Gardico 512C, Gardico 522C, Klinger C-5401, Garlock 3300
  • Non-asbestos fiber gaskets with rubber binders and with metal tang inserts to 1800-deg F: Gardico 596B (1200-deg F); Gardico 596E; and, Gardico 596G (1800-deg F)
  • Carbon fiber to 840-deg F: Gardico 5365, Klinger C-4500
  • Graphite compressed sheet to 900-deg F. with:
    • Stainless steel: Gardico 5463; Klinger SLS; Klinger PSM
    • Aramid insert: Frenzelit Novatec (TM)
  • High Temperature, red and black
  • Expanded PTFE (Teflon®) to 600-deg F, excellent chemical compatibility
  • Solid PTFE with fillers for more dimensional stability, excellent chemical compatibility
  • Wire insert material also available

These compressed non-asbestos gasket sheet rubber materials provide excellent sealing capabilities, heat resistance and torque retention.

Furnace, boiler and incinerator gaskets

These applications have very high temperature requirements met by ceramic and fiberglass fibers which can be enhanced by the addition of vermiculite.

  • Ceramic fiber cloth (to 2300/3000 deg F) & rope (to 1500/2000 deg F)
  • Fiberglass (to 1000 deg F) with vermiculite coating (to 1500 deg F): tape, cloth and rope
